Overview
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC are each committed to protecting the privacy of their members and clients. Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC is a subsidiary of Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. The two organizations are considered affiliates. In order to have consistency between affiliates, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services have each adopted the same privacy policy. Reference to “we”, and “us” and “our” refer independently to Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC. Reference to “you” shall mean members of the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and the clients of Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC.
In the course of providing services to you, we collect information about you. Some of this information is nonpublic personal information. We do not sell your nonpublic personal information but we share some of your nonpublic personal information with our service providers and others in order to serve you better. We share your nonpublic personal information only with contractual safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your information.
Information We Collect About You
We collect information about you from the following sources:
• Information we receive from you on applications and other forms (for example, name, address, social security numbers, assets and income);
• Information about your transactions with us, our affiliate or others including those companies that work closely with us to provide you with diverse financial products and services (for example, your account balance, payment history, parties to a transactions and credit card usage);
• Information we receive from a credit reporting agency (for example, your creditworthiness and credit history);
• Information obtained when verifying information you provide on an application or other forms (this may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions); and
• Information we obtain from consumer purchasing and census data providers to develop competitive marketing programs for our members/clients.
Information We Disclose
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, as permitted by law and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members/clients and former members/clients to anyone, except as permitted by law.
Disclosure of Information to Parties that Provided Services to Us
In order that we may provide members and clients with competitive products and services, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf to other financial service providers with whom we have joint marketing agreements. We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you under circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct our operations, follow your instructions as you authorize or protect the security of our financial records.
Disclosure of Information About Former Members and Clients
If you decide to terminate your membership with us or your relationship with Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as may be permitted or required by law.
Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure
As affiliates, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC are permitted by law to share any information about their transactions or experiences with you. Information taken from credit reports may also be exchanged but will not be shared if you notify us in writing. If you elect to opt out of this information exchange, please indicate your intentions on the attached form and mail as instructed.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
What Members Can Do to Help
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC are committed to protecting the privacy of its members and clients. You can help by following these simple guidelines:
• Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your ATM (Cache) card, debit or credit card, which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
• Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security number, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains that the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
• Keep your information current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent information or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.

Privacy on our Website
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union’s security implementation enables members to conduct their business via the Internet with an extremely high degree of security.
Our website contains links to other sites. The Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
A number of financial sites offer a service which enables you to view, access and manage your personal accounts across thousands of institutions and service providers with one password. This collection and viewing of data from a single source is known as account aggregation. For an outside aggregator to consolidate your MHVFCU account information with various outside sources, you would be required to provide your MHVFCU member number and the password which you use to access your accounts via our Home Banking. The service provider will use this information to access our system and collect your MHVFCU account data.
Please be advised that MHVFCU does not have a relationship with any third party provider of account aggregation services. Should you choose to use an account aggregation service, you are not using our services to access your account details and as such we cannot guarantee the security and privacy of any confidential information you provide to the account aggregation service provider, nor can MHVFCU take responsibility for unauthorized transactions that may arise as a result of your providing your member number and password to other parties. We recommend that you carefully read any and all disclosures related to account aggregation services prior to enrolling.
Availability of Policy
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union is proud of its commitment to member confidentiality and will make this policy available upon request. We distribute the policy to each new account holder and post our privacy policy on our Internet home page.

Opt Out Notice and Option
As a member of Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and/or a client of Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC you may choose to “opt out” of receiving certain marketing materials by direct mail, e-mail, or telemarketing. Members who “opt out” will continue to receive offers included in their statements. You may also “opt out” of the sharing of your information taken from credit reports between Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Mid-Hudson Valley Services, LLC. If you elect to “opt out” of this information exchange, please indicate your intention in writing.
