New Insurance Regulations

As of 8/2/10, NY State legislation passed increasing the minimum amount of assessed auto collision property damage for which insurance carriers can implement a surcharge (rate increase) rose from $1,000 to $2,000. This legislation now protects consumers from vehicle insurance rate increases due to minor auto accidents where the total damage is assessed to be under $2,000. Insurance companies have 120 days to comply with the new legislation. Mid-Hudson Valley Insurance Representatives along with other independent agents have been promoting and supporting this legislation for consumers and are pleased that it has finally been passed.

MHV is Horsin’ Around Saugerties

Mid Hudson Jewel

Our entry into the 2010 Hors'n Around Saugerties Summer Celebration was installed near the branch in the village of Saugerties over the July 4th weekend and will remain there until early September. Next time you’re driving through keep an eye out for the “The Mid-Hudson Valley Jewel.”

"Hors’n Around Saugerties” is a summer-long public art project located on the sidewalks in and around the Village of Saugerties, showcasing the work of local artists and raising money for deserving community organizations. As with tradition of the Hors’n Around Celebration the horse along with all other entries will be auctioned off on September 11th at the “Unbridled Fun” Gala and Auction to benefit local organizations.

MHV’s 2010 Relay for Life Recap

MHV Employees Lead the Relay

MHV recently celebrated the end of their most successful Kingston Relay for Life Campaign to date. Our employees and members help to raise over $25,000 making us the top corporate donator for 2010! We also won Best Tent at the Kingston Relay for their “Hotel Hope” and “Zen Lounge” themes.

“This year, by far, is the most successful relay in our long history,” stated Bill Spearman, CEO. “I think you can see how important our devoted and caring employees are to our local American Cancer Society Chapter. I couldn’t be prouder of the effort that was made and this truly proves that MHV has heart.”

One of three Grand Marshall’s for this year’s Kingston Relay for Life was MHV employee Bob Gorman, who recently battled cancer and found a new appreciation for life. Bob proudly walked the Survivor Lap with Grand Marshall’s Kayla Simon and Carol Montgomery at the Opening Ceremony to fellow employees cheering them on at Dietz Stadium.
