Employee Spotlight
We’re pleased to introduce you to Peter Sestito, the new Branch Manager at our Newburgh Branch. With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for community-driven leadership.
Leading with Authenticity
For Peter, leadership is all about being real and showing up in a way that matters. He believes that the little things- taking time to listen, being present, and treating people with genuine care are what truly make a difference. “Leadership isn’t just about being in charge,” he says. “It’s about showing up, being yourself, and doing your part to make things better for the people around you.”

Staying Grounded and True to Values
Peter understands the importance of staying grounded in one’s values, especially as careers evolve. He believes that it’s essential to remember your roots and hold on to the core beliefs that have shaped your journey. “As you take on more responsibility, it’s about making decisions that align with your values — that’s what truly defines effective leadership,” he explains.
Building Meaningful Connections
A big part of Peter's leadership style is building genuine relationships with his team and members. He starts by sharing a little about himself to create an open and authentic environment. “When you understand someone’s background and what drives them, you can build better connections and work towards common goals,” he explains.
Mentorship and Community Engagement
Peter also places a strong emphasis on mentorship and helping others grow. “I’m looking forward to building team dynamics and earning the trust of my colleagues through actions and results,” he says. That commitment to growth extends beyond the workplace- Peter serves as a mentor for the Leadership Dutchess Class of 2025, where he helps guide emerging leaders as they develop their skills and find their voice. Whether in the office or the community, Peter is passionate about making a meaningful impact.

Looking Ahead: Growth and New Challenges
Outside of work, Peter is always looking for ways to grow- both personally and professionally. He’s set new goals to push his limits, including hiking Kilimanjaro or taking on another adventure like ziplining the world’s longest zipline overseas. That same mindset shapes how he supports MHV members: helping them dream big, set big goals, and find the financial confidence to pursue what they’re passionate about.
We’re thrilled to welcome Peter Sestito to the Mid-Hudson Valley Credit Union team. His wealth of experience, strong leadership, and dedication to community will help us continue to grow and enhance the service we provide to our members. Next time you're in the Newburgh area, feel free to stop by and say hello- Peter would love to meet you!
