People are our most important asset – and we love to celebrate them! We are thrilled to announce that Alicia Hallam has won the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Financial Council Professional of the Year Award.

This prestigious national award honors an individual who exemplifies excellence in credit union financial management. Ms. Hallam, MHV’s VP, Accounting and Finance/Controller, was nominated by Christopher Corallo, MHV’s Chief Financial Officer.

The award recognizes individuals who consistently excel for the benefit of their credit union, and the advancement of ideals of the credit union movement. In her 8 years at MHV, Ms. Hallam has guided the credit union through the implementation of Lease Accounting, earned yearly clean financial audits, created a blog for staff to better understand the credit union’s finances, and improved the budgeting process. She is in the process of implementing a financial transformation geared at streamlining financial reporting and analyses. Ms. Hallam also serves as Board President for the Ulster County SPCA, volunteers at the Center for Creative Education, and is a member of the Ulster County Italian American Foundation.

“Alicia is an asset to MHV. She’s a confident, reliable and trusted employee; a volunteer in the community; a stepmom; a Zumba teacher; a role model to her Accounting staff; and an all-around good person,” says Mr. Corallo. “Alicia has assisted MHV staff with better understanding the credit union’s finances through the creation of her Controller’s Corner on the company’s intranet.  I am extremely proud of her receiving this well-deserved award and I am very thankful that Alicia Hallam is MHV’s VP & Controller.”
