Woodstock, NY— Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) presented a check for $1,000 to the Woodstock Fire Department Company #5 due to the great work and vital community role they play for the Woodstock community. Kathleen Platsky, Vice President of the Woodstock Fire Department, accepted the donation from Wayne Winkler, CEO of MHV, at the Woodstock Branch located at 85 Mill Hill Road.
Kathleen has 40 years of service with the Woodstock Fire Department. She commented, “The gift will enable us to do equipment upgrades and EMT training. We thank MHV for their generous support and appreciate their recognition. Anyone interested in our mission can contact us at 845-679-5111
.” An average cost of an EKG monitor for their vehicle costs $30,000. The donation will also go towards member appreciation meals at monthly meetings and for daily operations.
The Woodstock Fire Department covers 69 square miles and has five stations with 22 vehicles and over 172 volunteers. They provide fire protection and paramedic EMS services to over 6,300 residents. MHV resident/CEO, Wayne Winkler commented, “It is important to us to support our community and organizations such as the Woodstock Fire Department - those who are protecting and saving lives. Woodstock Fire Department attends to many incidents each year and we are proud to give back to them.”
