Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) is pleased to welcome Stephen Sickler as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending. With more than 17 years of experience in the banking industry and deep roots in the Hudson Valley, Stephen brings a relationship-focused, community-minded approach to commercial lending that aligns perfectly with MHV’s values.
A Career Built on Connection and Expertise
Stephen began his career in banking at Rondout Savings, where he spent over a decade developing his knowledge of commercial lending and building strong relationships with local businesses. “I really got entrenched in the business there,” he explains. “It gave me a solid foundation in how to truly support the financial needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs.”
As the industry evolved, Stephen transitioned to a role at Catskill Hudson Bank, where he spent five years continuing to grow his expertise and expanding his client base across the region. Most recently, he was with Hudson Valley Credit Union following their acquisition of Catskill Hudson.
“I’ve always believed that the best way to serve clients is to get to know them—really understand their business, their challenges, and their goals,” Stephen shares. “That relationship-building is what drew me to MHV. It’s a culture that values connection just as much as it values service.”

In his new role, Stephen is focused on helping local businesses grow by offering tailored lending solutions backed by personalized service. From small startups to established enterprises, he sees his role as a strategic partner to business owners across the Hudson Valley.
