Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) is pleased to announce the promotion of Xiomara Solorzano (Mara) to Branch Manager at our Peekskill location. Since the branch opened in 2021, Mara has played a key role in supporting our members and strengthening community connections. Her growth has been driven by her commitment to service, and we’re proud to have her lead the Peekskill team in this next chapter.

Growing With Our Members & Community

Mara has built her career on a deep commitment to serving the community and supporting members through every stage of their financial journeys. “The best part of my job is being there for our members through both the highs and lows,” she says. “Whether it’s celebrating milestones like buying a home or helping navigate challenges like budgeting or debt, it’s incredibly rewarding to offer guidance.” For Mara, building genuine relationships is what makes the work meaningful. “Knowing our members by name and being someone they trust with their financial concerns—that’s what drives me," she shares.

Strengthening Partnerships

Mara’s involvement in the community goes well beyond the branch. She volunteers in her children’s extracurriculars, supports local events, and sees outreach as a key part of her role. “Being involved is about building real connections and helping our community thrive,” she says. Already, she’s leading impactful initiatives like first-time homebuyer seminars, and partnering with LatinU to help families navigate FAFSA- efforts that directly benefit local students and families.

Hard Work, Mentorship, and a Mission to Inspire

Reflecting on her journey with MHV, Mara is proud of the path she’s carved—from starting as a Member Service Representative to becoming a Supervisor and now stepping into the Branch Manager role. She credits her progress to hard work, consistency, and the support of mentors like Roger Campos, MHV’s Community Impact Business Relationship Manager, who helped prepare her for this next chapter. “I’m excited to take on new responsibilities, especially as the role expands to include more community engagement,” she says.

Mara’s advice is simple: stay focused, work hard, and trust that dedication pays off. She hopes to lead by example—at work and at home—showing her daughters and others that perseverance leads to success. With a passion for service and strong leadership, Mara is ready to guide the Peekskill branch toward continued impact. If you're in the area, stop by to meet Mara or a member of her team and talk about your own financial journey.
