Representing MHV: Employees Named to YUP Advisory Committee

Aug 12, 2025

Community support is more than a value at MHV – it’s a way of life. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate three employees recently named to the Advisory Committee for Young Ulster Professionals (YUP), a program through the Ulster Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The YUP Advisory Committee brings together emerging leaders from across Ulster County to foster professional growth, connection, and civic engagement.

Caleb Russell, Branch Supervisor at Red Hook, Shane O’Neil, Branch Supervisor at Hurley Avenue, and Ralph Barton, Member Service Representative at Hurley Avenue Branch, have stepped into new roles that allow them to support local initiatives, and build meaningful connections across the community.

Each brings something unique to the table, but they’re united by a shared belief in service, growth and connection- values they say are deeply rooted in their experiences at MHV.

Shane from Hurley Avenue

“I recognized the positive impact YUP was already making,” said Shane.

“And MHV’s culture of service made the decision to get involved feel like a natural step. I’ve had the chance to build strong relationships through my role here, and I’m excited to bring that perspective to YUP.”

Ralph from Hurley Avenue

For Ralph, the mission behind YUP closely mirrors what he’s learned at MHV:

“We lead by listening here,” he said.

“That’s something I’ve carried with me into this new role. Both organizations place people first, and that really matters to me.”

Caleb from Red Hook

Caleb was drawn to the opportunity to grow and connect with peers:

“YUP aligns perfectly with what we do at MHV – empowering people, education, and making a difference.” He shared.

“I’m excited to grow through this experience, both professionally and personally.”

When asked what advice they’d give to others looking to get involved, all three pointed to the same idea: take the first step. Whether it’s attending a local event or saying yes to something outside your comfort zone, they agreed that showing up is often the beginning of something bigger.

We’re proud to support Shane, Ralph, and Caleb in this new chapter and look forward to the positive impact they’ll continue to make – both at MHV and in the communities we serve.
