Why a line of credit from MHV

Some expenses don't arrive in one neat number. A personal line of credit gives you an approved amount to draw from whenever you need it, and you pay interest only on what you use.

Reusable

Draw, repay, and draw again up to your limit, for as long as your line is open.

Built-in overdraft protection

Link your line to your MHV checking account so it automatically covers shortfalls, avoiding returned payments.

Draw in seconds

Transferring to your checking via MHV Digital Banking or at any branch.
How to use a line of credit

A cushion for real life

Cover a gap

Freelance, seasonal, or commission income doesn't always land on the first of the month. Your bills do.

Protect your checking

Linked as overdraft protection, your line steps in before a payment bounces.

Handle the emergency

Don't wait for funding; a line of credit is ready when needed, without applying.

Do the project in phases

Pay the electrician this month and the painter next month, drawing only what each stage costs

Bridge a reimbursement

A tuition refund or an insurance payout, you know, is coming.

A line is revolving: you're approved for a limit, draw what you need, repay, and draw again. A personal loan is a one-time lump sum with a fixed payment and a set payoff date. Use a line of credit for uncertain or ongoing costs; use a loan when you know the exact amount.

Rates start at 12.99% APR, based on your credit qualifications. You pay interest only on the amount you've drawn.

No. Interest accrues only on your outstanding balance. An unused line costs nothing.

Transfer from your line to your MHV checking or savings in MHV Digital Banking, visit a branch, or link the line to your checking as overdraft protection so transfers happen automatically.

When a transaction would overdraw your linked MHV checking account, we transfer the shortfall from your line of credit to cover it. You pay interest on the transferred amount until you repay it.

Debt consolidation is the process of combining multiple debts into a single loan, ideally with a lower interest rate and a more manageable payment plan.
